- From guests, parents/guardians, schools, event organisers and referral partners: they may introduce a contributor, suggest a story or provide details needed to organise an interview or event. They should be authorised to share the information.
- Automatically: when you use our website, through server logs and, where enabled and permitted, cookies or similar technologies.

5. Guests, stories and public content
Guests and contributors should understand that recorded material may be edited and published across websites, podcast services, video platforms, social media, promotional clips and future compilations, as described in the applicable release or agreement. Once content is public, others may copy, quote, download or reshare it beyond our control.
Please do not send confidential information, detailed medical records, images of self-harm, precise location information or another person's personal story through comments, direct messages or general submission forms. If you suggest someone else's story, do not identify them unless you have permission or a lawful reason.
SuccessFou content is for general information and inspiration and is not medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact emergency services. Messages and comments are not continuously monitored and are not a crisis-support channel.
6. Children and young people
SuccessFou is likely to be accessed by people under 18, so we aim to put their best interests first and minimise the information we collect. We do not knowingly use children's personal data for behavioural advertising or ask children to provide unnecessary personal information. Privacy settings and collection points should be designed to offer a high level of privacy by default.
- If you are under 13, do not subscribe, submit a story, enter a competition, register for an event or send us personal information without a parent or guardian's involvement.
- If you are 13 to 17, think carefully before sharing personal information and involve a trusted adult when a submission, appearance, event or agreement could identify you.
- For an identifiable under-18 guest or contributor, we use age-appropriate explanations and obtain parent/guardian permission where required, while respecting the young person's views and data rights.
- We avoid publishing a young person's contact details, school, precise location or other information that creates an unnecessary risk.
- A parent, guardian or young person can raise a privacy concern at info@successfou.com. We will investigate and delete information collected inappropriately where required.
Because the service is likely to be accessed by children, SuccessFou should complete and maintain a data protection impact assessment and review its design against the ICO Children's Code before launch and when features change.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use strictly necessary cookies to operate. With your consent, it may also use optional analytics, embedded-media, functionality or advertising cookies. Optional cookies should not be set before consent where consent is required. You can change your choices through the cookie controls on the site and through your browser settings.
Third-party content, such as an embedded video or social-media post, may allow the relevant platform to collect data when you interact with it. Review that provider's privacy information. Our cookie banner and separate cookie notice should name the tools actually in use.
8. Sharing personal data
We may share personal data only where necessary with:
- IT, website hosting, cloud storage, email, analytics, payment, accounting and professional-adviser providers;
- production crew, editors, freelancers, venues, distributors, broadcasters, podcast hosts, social-media platforms and other project partners;
- clients, sponsors or commissioning partners where relevant and lawful;
- regulators, courts, law enforcement or other authorities where required by law; and
- a buyer, investor or successor in connection with a proposed or completed sale, reorganisation or transfer of our business or assets.
Our service providers may use personal data only for agreed purposes and must protect it. Publicly released audio, video, photographs, credits, comments or testimonials may be accessible worldwide and may be copied or reshared by others.
9. International transfers
Some suppliers and online platforms may store or access personal data outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires it, we use an approved safeguard, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum, and any required risk assessment. Contact us for more information about safeguards relevant to your data.
10. Data security
We use appropriate organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal data against accidental loss and unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. Access is limited to people who need it for their work. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure.
11. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described, including legal, accounting, safeguarding, rights-management and dispute requirements. The periods in the table above are working defaults and must be aligned with our retention schedule. We may keep data longer where a complaint, claim, safeguarding concern or legal obligation requires it. We may retain anonymised information indefinitely because it no longer identifies anyone.
12. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to be informed; request access; request correction or deletion; restrict or object to processing; receive certain data in a portable format; withdraw consent at any time; and challenge certain solely automated decisions. These rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply.
To exercise a right, contact info@successfou.com. We may ask for information needed to confirm your identity. We normally respond within one month, although the law permits an extension for complex or numerous requests. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
13. Marketing
We send electronic marketing only where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing message or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not stop service, contractual or administrative communications. We do not sell personal data.
14. Third-party links and platforms
Our site and SuccessFou content may link to or appear on third-party websites and platforms. Those organisations control their own processing, and their privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for their independent practices.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our activities, suppliers or the law change. The current version will be posted on our website with a revised "last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will take appropriate steps to notify affected people.
